Most of the materials that will be used for the construction of settlement are readily available on the surface of Mars and Asteroid belt and the materials which can not be synthesized within the settlement will be brought from Earth’s Moon. The outer wall of our settlement will be a multilayered assembly of various materials. The outer most layer of Kevlar-49 will be in the form of tiles of dimensions (1m x 1m x2m), which will be manufactured in the pressurized areas near the Inflatable habitats. Then there will be a 2m thick layer of regolith and water mixed in equal proportion by mass. In between the layers a thin layer of RTV adhesive will be put to keep the layers intact. To increase the strength of wall a titanium layer will be added. This will be followed by a couple of layers of Alveolux FR-B-3020 (polyethylene foam) which will help in absorbing and dispersing radiations due to its hydrogen content. And then the innermost layer of Ferro – nickel alloy coated with aluminum.
Ferro-nickel Primary construction material Titanium Sealing walls to provide extra protection Silicate raw material Solar panels, Electronics chips, To manufacture glass Lead glass To make transparent walls of torii Regolith Used as effective radiation shield Kevlar-49 Impact resistant outer tiles Alveolux FR-B-3020 Used for absorbing and dispersing radiations X Aerogel To make the glasses for observatory windows RTV adhesive Used for sticking different layers |
