How many times have you heard motivational speakers asking you to follow your paths and to set your own benchmarks? Well, this article is more of a continuation to those speeches. Here I will not be telling you what to benchmark because that is something which you need to figure out yourself but I’ll be talking about what not to benchmark.

It is a famous saying “having best friends at each phase of your life is good but having the same one throughout is bliss”.

Having done all that is required there were still few unavoidable circumstances when you had to part from your favorite ones. Many years after that separation, you wonder what wrong you did or what right you didn’t do because of which you couldn’t have him/her throughout by your side. Emotions become so strong that feel to give in, looking examples around who could do what you could not.

But that is the beauty of life that it is so unpredictable that you never know what path it chooses for you to follow. So it becomes more of a matter of luck for such aspirations to be full filled which are many times externally controlled.

So I suggest all not to look back and feel failed for not setting such aspirations as your benchmarks because luck/life/fate bears certain unpredictability which you should just let go.
