Yesterday I saw this post on www.linkedinc.om stating that
Thapar is losing its prestigious status!
I think this statement seems somewhat true. The person Mr. Anil had read one of the recent articles/ranking published in Dataquest. He said that he is not a huge fan of these ranking but there are two key points (about Thapar) mentioned in these ranking which bother me: 1) Poor HR perception 2) Adminstrative Issues.
Moreover it was written that ARO (Alumni Relation Office) will have to take extra measures and technology to improve upon its alumni relations and also college should look upon its loosing prestigious status which it had in the earlier time.
Another issue which was hiked in the discussion was that of the hike in fees of Thapar because of which students of extraordinary calibers are not taking admission in such a College like Thapar.
I would like all my friends of Thapar or even in rest of world to kindly share their views about what as students and college as administartion can do to protect and safeguard its prestigious status.

In today’s era global warming has been most discussed issue in the world because it is believed that global warming would be the major cause of end of life on earth, and as we know that we all are responsible for the same. The first thing that we can do is to empower youth to cool the earth. every generation needs the revolution and the time has come when all the young generation in the world should join hands together to fight against this parasite i.e. Global Warming. The government of many countries have even decided and enforced the plan that school and college students should be taught the subject of Global Isuues that are becoming a threat to us. We all should give some contribution to improve the worsening condition of Global Warming like by Using more of Public Transport, Check on Deforestation, Less Carbon Dioxide emmsion by Vehicles and Industries, etc.
Now it all depend on us how we deal with such harsh circumstances of Global Warming.

We all know that this time New Delhi, capital of India is hosting the Common Wealth Games between 3rd Oct and 14th Oct 2010. It is the first time that India is organizing such time of games but is India really ready for the same. The stakes are high, the competition tough and no holds are barred. To achieve the success of such an event New Delhi has started improving upon its infrastructure like accommodation, transport, sports complexes where these events are going to take place. But if we go deep into the matter we can clearly see that till now India is not completely ready for such a big event of Common Wealth Games, we can see on in Delhi that till now Metro Project is not complete and on many routes metro is still not running, also government don’t have that much funds so that they can do something about the accommodation of the Sports Person that are going to come for the games and the people who would be visiting to India to see this event. Everyone wants to capitalise on the situation and play the game of politics to spoil the climate. It is all about oneupmanship at every step.

How many times have you heard motivational speakers asking you to follow your paths and to set your own benchmarks? Well, this article is more of a continuation to those speeches. Here I will not be telling you what to benchmark because that is something which you need to figure out yourself but I’ll be talking about what not to benchmark.
It is a famous saying “having best friends at each phase of your life is good but having the same one throughout is bliss”.
Having done all that is required there were still few unavoidable circumstances when you had to part from your favorite ones. Many years after that separation, you wonder what wrong you did or what right you didn’t do because of which you couldn’t have him/her throughout by your side. Emotions become so strong that feel to give in, looking examples around who could do what you could not.
But that is the beauty of life that it is so unpredictable that you never know what path it chooses for you to follow. So it becomes more of a matter of luck for such aspirations to be full filled which are many times externally controlled.
So I suggest all not to look back and feel failed for not setting such aspirations as your benchmarks because luck/life/fate bears certain unpredictability which you should just let go.

Education and its methodology have been ever evolving. As the courses are becoming more and more complex in nature, it becomes tough for students to visualize the practical implementation of the same. There has been lot of talks on how to make education closer to real life scenario, resulting in Projects, Simulations, and Internships etc. These have made remarkable changes to how students approach a course these days and students have gone the distance to see what they actually want and choose them suitably.
Next step which policy makers really need to take is to integrate the education giving approach. By integration I don’t mean to integrate various courses together but it means that while studying the different courses emphasis should be on providing the bigger picture of syllabi with respect to other relating streams also.
As a student when I learn something in Kinematic physics, I shall be able to relate the same to rotational physics because eventually everything is science and it cannot be standalone in nature. Every law explored in one field can open so many gates in other fields. Similarly in programming world when I am moving to more sophisticating programming models I shall be able to define its interaction with operating system. By these examples I don’t to mean to make curriculum crowded but whatever courses are already being taught shall be redesigned keeping other courses in mind and shaped accordingly. Certain bridge modules shall be chipped in for students to realize the association of subjects
This cannot be achieved single handedly by course setters or educators alone but they have to work closely to make it happen. Educators throughout, for students from primary schools to specialized courses shall put more emphasis on presenting things closer to reality which students can easily grasp and also shall present a bigger picture so that students can actually apply those concepts, answering what, why, when questions of studied concepts.
